this function, located in the Southern Region, seeks to further enhance the Department’s suite of prison-located education and training services to more effectively realise the educational, employment, and rehabilitative results connected with quality education and learning opportunities which we know can support reduced reoffending.
The Practice Manager Education and Training will provide the Southern Region with the strategic leadership abilities, subject matter skills, and frontline best-practice advice to improve the overall quality and effectiveness of prison-located education services.
The Practice Manager Education and Training will be actively responsible for leading the development and implementation of education improvement strategies and will work closely with the regional Practice team and with our National Edcuation & Training team to help drive the Southern region’s strategic focus.

We are interested in candidates who possess the following:
   » practice as a leader amongst educational professionals, with a focus on education service design, development, management, and the implementation of excellent practice.
   » practice in prosperously designing and implementing educational improvement strategies across an organisation resulting in improved educational & employment results.
   » A strong knowledge of the New Zealand tertiary education sector and the New Zealand Qualifications Framework.
   » Both a theoretical and practical knowledge of what works for adult learning, particularly for those who may have disengaged from education at an early age.
   » Strong stakeholder management skills, including the capability to influence vertically and horizontality across the business and the capability to credibily engage with the senior management of external education service providers.
   » A strong, evidence-located knowledge as to what works for M?ori within education and training, and how culturally responsive pedagogy is crucial for improved engagement and achievement.
   » keeps up with International trends and new thinking in this field in order to share this with diverse groups

The income band for this function is between $110,091 – $155,423 and the mid-point is $129,519 appointment will be dependent on skills and practice.
