Our establied kaupapa M?ori organisation based on a wh?nau first, tikanga based, wellbeing approach. Our organisation works to a model of care centered around our four 'pou' (guiding principles) of manaakitanga, whanaungatanga, arohatanga and rangatiratanga.

We are seeking Kaiawhina Youth Coaches who;
   » Pride themselves on a wh?nau first, tikanga based, wellbeing approach
   » Are passionate about making a difference in the lives of our taiohi (youth)
   » Have a positive and supportive mindset with our taiohi to achieve their goals and aspirations
   » Are patient and calm. Will walk alongside our taiohi at the pace of our taiohi
   » Know how to be respectful and uphold the integrity/dignity of our taiohi
   » Embrace a holistic approach to wellbeing

Requirements:
   » Fully Covid-19 vaccinated and boosted
   » Coaching/ mentoring experience;
   » Understanding of goal planning and goal setting;
   » Can support taiohi to engage in further education and training;
   » Know about life skills (and general skills) development based on aspirations and future goals;
   » Can assist taiohi to develop employment preparation skills such as job search techniques, curriculum vitae (CV) creation, job interview practice and other related areas;
   » Assistance to discover personal barriers of taiohi and find solutions to overcome these;
   » Connect taiohi with relevant support services as and when needed;
   » Provide financial assistance support with youth payment/ young parent payments;
   » Caseload management and working closely with other relevant services;
   » Monitor and evaluate progress of all taiohi in your care;
   » Keep accurate and timely records and documentation.
What you will bring:
   » Full driver's license
   » First Aid Certificate
   » 1 -2 years' previous experience in coaching and mentoring taiohi;
   » A preferable certificate/diploma/ degree in anything relevant to youth coaching and or learning and development;
   » A background in, or practice of te reo and tikanga M?ori philosophy;
   » Passion and drive to empower, coach and mentor taiohi to reach their full potential;
   » Computer literacy and excellent administration/data entry skills;
   » High level of oral and written skills;
   » Patience, drive, motivation and empathy to make a difference to the lives of taiohi;
   » Ability to build and maintain great team and external stakeholder relationships
