AT now has an exciting opportunity in our South Hub for an Elected Member Relationship Partner to work with the politicians who Aucklanders elect to govern our city . You will be a natural at making connections, influencing politicians, and pulling apart bureaucratic blockages to forge innovative solutions. You will play a significant function in improving AT’s responsiveness on local issues, cutting red tape and helping achieve valuable transport results for local communities and the wider Auckland region. To be considered for this function you will have the following: » Ideally ten years’ practice working in a political environment or highly complex organisation » A comprehensive and practical knowledge of issues affecting people living in South Auckland » Be culturally aware and responsive » Substantial practice in relationship management » A desire to see transport deliver changes for Aucklanders » Strong negotiation and conflict management expertise » capability to broker solutions both within and outside a complex organisation » A sound knowledge of local government, including potential issues » Confidence speaking in public with large, diverse groups of people in impromptu situations » capability to manage and resolve situations in a politically sensitive environment » Proven capability to produce thoroughly researched, comprehensive and well-written reports You will be regarded as a person of integrity, with a strong sense of what is the right thing to do, as well as being resilient, diplomatic and having a good sense of humour. We operate in a fast-moving environment with demanding people, so you will be highly organised, capable of performing effectively under pressure, the capability to manage and resolve situations in a politically sensitive environment and possess excellent verbal and written communication expertise. As this function requires you to attend Local Board meetings, Information technology is essential that you are available after normal business hours several times each month, as these meeting are generally held in the evenings. candidates must also hold a full clean New Zealand driver’s licence.
