We have a great opportunity for a postdoctoral fellow to undertake to work with a talented team at the UC Child Well-being Research Institute. The prosperous candidate will work on a project that is part of the Better Start National Science Challenge prosperous Learning Theme. You will work with Professor Gail Gillon and Professor Brigid McNeill on the National Science Challenge prosperous learning theme.
M?u | Who You Are
We are seeking for individuals with a strong background in children’s learning, development and literacy to help support this component of the research.
You will have a PhD, PhD in Psychology with skills in child development or a related discipline, as well as a proven research background working in teams. The function will ideally require you to have practice working in M?ori communities and expertise of Kaupapa M?ori research methodologies, and practical practice in the field – working with wh?nau, early childhood communities, health or education practitioners.
You will have demonstrated practice of excellent research capabilities (design and leadership abilities) required to carry out innovative and insightful research and a publication track record as well as practice with preparation and delivery of quality oral presentations.

UC’s Child Well-being Research Institute is where ‘nurturing research excellence to support children’s holistic well-being’ takes place. You will be working closely with a dynamic, interdisciplinary group of researchers, teachers, speech-language therapists and other professionals as part of the Child Well-being Research Institute team. You will located at Manawa, a state-of-the-art health and education research hub in Christchurch’s central city.
