The function/Te mahi
We are pursuing to appoint a full-time confirmation path Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Early Childhood Education. In this function, you will contribute to the teaching of undergraduate and postgraduate students, as well as supervising postgraduate research students.
You will be an active researcher in Early Childhood Education, in areas significant to the implementation of bicultural curriculum, education policy, and/or early childhood pedagogy, with demonstrated expertise and skills related to Pasifika languages and cultures.
In addition, you will be expected to visit initial teacher education students on practicum and contribute to service and committee work of the College, University, and the wider profession.

The prosperous applicant will have teaching practice related to early childhood education with a current teachers practising certificate or who can be registered as a teacher in New Zealand. You will also have:
   » A working expertise of Te Wh?riki and its implications for practice and bicultural early childhood education, with curricular skills.
   » Proven capacity to teach at tertiary level.
   » A strong focus on bicultural education in teaching and research including demonstrated expertise and skills related to te reo, tikanga, and bicultural practice.
   » A doctoral level qualification or significant progress towards a doctorate is preferred but not essential.
   » A collaborative and collegial approach to work.
