The School of Psychology offers a range of specialisations within psychology at graduate level, including programmes which lead to registration as a psychologist. Information technology enables students to study psychology with the flexibility to tailor learning and qualifications to suit individual needs.
The School offers a vibrant and dynamic research environment. Our team of 20 academic staff specialise in diverse areas of psychology including; environmental, clinical, social and organisational, community and health, kaupapa M?ori and cognitive and developmental psychology.
Ng? k?rero m? te t?ranga – About the function
We have an interesting opportunity to join the School of Psychology as Research adjunct (Pacific Cultural Liaison) for a Health Research Council (HRC) funded study examining Concussion Recovery in Children and Adolescents (the CRANIAC study).
The focus of the position is to support engagement with Pacific groups and to support Pacific/M?ori families with their involvement in the study. The function will involve raising consciousness of the study among Pacific health providers and facilitating expertise transfer to community groups, service providers and other key stakeholders.

You will be organised, able to work independently and have effective interpersonal expertise, with a strong track record in establishing and maintaining positive relationships. practice in research and providing cultural advice to health care services is an advantage.
You will have a tertiary qualification in a significant field or significant work practice. Previous practice working with Pacific families, an consciousness of te reo M?ori and tikanga M?ori, and a strong interest in concussion/traumatic brain injury is preferred.
The income will be in the range of $49,686 – $61,152 peryear, pro rata, depending on qualifications, expertise and practice.
Please note: The University has decided that, from 14 February 2022, all staff working on or entering any of its campuses or sites must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. You will be required to provide proof of vaccination for this function.
This position is part time (0.2 FTE or 7.5 hours per week) and fixed term until April 2023 in the first instance.
