We are pursuing a Pou ?whinaCounsellor in the mental health and addiction field to join our PGF Services team in Hamilton.
About us
PGF Services is part of the PGF Group, a national gambling harm support service in Aotearoa. We provide free, professional, and confidential counselling to anyone impacted by gambling harm and integrate this with a strong health promotion programme in communities.
Starting from a small telephone counselling service over 25 years ago, the organisation has evolved into a national provider, with a fully integrated Hua Oranga M?ori model of care and a public health programme that works alongside counsellors. We are culturally diverse and support autonomous Pacific and Asian services delivering culturally and linguistically appropriate gambling counselling and public health support.

About the function

This Pou ?whina counsellor function will be located in Hamiltonwith some travel to regional clinics as needed (vehicle provided). The function offers lots of variety, from providing wh?nau support services, to raising consciousness of gambling harm through education and community engagement in the Midlands region.

About you
   » Have a qualification in a significant field such as social work, mental health, counselling and/or addiction
   » Have membership to a governing body such as NZ Psychological Society, Social Work Registration Board, NZ Council of Nursing, Dapaanz, or NZAC
   » Have the capability to work cross-culturally and engage with diverse communities
   » Have high standards of record keeping
   » Have a full and clean driver's licence
   » Be competent in data entry and practice with Microsoft 365 programmes is desirable
