Are you passionate about working with tangata whenua and the wider community? Join DOC’s Hawkes Bay District team to deliver conservation results for some of Aotearoa’s most stunning heritage sites.
As our next manager, reporting to the local Operations Manager, your function is to assign work to your team, and to inspire, support, and coach them to execute, building their capcapability and a great team culture. Your passion for making a positive impact for conservation will shine through, inspiring your team to continuously strive to deliver great environmental results.
You will lead, coach, inspire and develop your team of Rangers; plan, assign, monitor and review work with your team and foster a great working culture. This team is passionate about the work they do and has a culture of inclusiveness and support with whanau at the core and you will share those values and passion for the conservation that drives the team.
Above all, the health, safety and wellbeing of staff will be your highest priority.

We are seeking for an practiced people leader who is passionate about developing their team and fostering a positive culture. If you have the following attributes, we are keen to hear from you:
   » Proven leadership abilities practice with the capability to develop and lead staff.
   » Previous practice engaging and working in partnership with iwi and mana whenua, as well as an knowledge of the implications of te Tiriti o te Waitangi (the Treaty of Waitangi) on today’s society and conservation.
   » Strong written and verbal communication expertise.
   » Emotional intelligence, and capability to have courageous conversations.
   » Sets high personal and professional standards.
   » Takes accountcapability for the success of the team.
   » Embraces change and can prosperously lead teams through change.
   » Demonstrated capcapability to plan, monitor and report on work delivery.
   » Technologically savvy and able to keep up with the changes in the digital space.
   » A current full New Zealand Driver Licence.
