The opportunity:
We have an opportunity in a brand new function for a Climate Resilience Advisor to help implement actions identified under the region-wideTeTaitokerauClimate Adaptation Strategy(the Strategy).
this function is adaptation focusedandthe opportunityis three-pronged:
   » Supporting ourdistrict council partners and other key agenciesto develop, undertakeand implement community adaptation planningacross the region
   » Help coordinate adaptation significant activities within Northland Regional Council
   » Support development and implementation ofM?ori-ledadaptation plans.
The purpose of this positionwill see you providing ?on the ground’ support as our partner agencies undertake their adaptation mahi.However, your work may also include the planning, doing, monitoring, evaluation and review of other priority actions in the Strategy(seewww.catt.org.nz).You will alsohelpcoordinate and lead the implementation of the adaptation workstream underNg? Taumata o Te Moana: our strategy for tackling climate change.
Do you have what Information technology takes?
We are seeking for someone who can bring the following:
   » Appropriate qualifications in physical science, social science, geography, or planningand/orup to three (3) years of practice in a similar or related function.
   » Good expertise of international and NZ climate legislative and policy context,
   » Good expertise of key concepts such as Te A? M?ori, climate resilient development, adaptation and consciousness of concepts and practices relating toemergency management, resource management planning, and local government and natural hazards policy.
   » Excellent verbal, presentation and written communication expertise, including an capability to translate technical nuance, complexity and uncertainty to engage a variety of audiences.
   » Project management and administration practice.
   » practice in use of Microsoft applications especially Teams, Word, Excel and Outlook
