The Regional Senior Adviser - Inclusion and Diversity works strategically and operationally, as a specialist, and is part of our regional capcapability and people support team. The position will be focused on being a positive I&D function model, supporting the delivery of the organisation’s inclusion and diversity strategy, regional leaders and initiatives, the Inclusion & Diversity Council and Regional I&D Champion groups. They work alongside people leaders, regional and national staff, with various network groups, and organisations (internal and external). this function has strong alignment to the work of the Talent and Organisation team and collaboration with the National I&D Advisers is key for mutually prosperous results.
This position will also have a specificportfoliofocus on leading the Regional Inclusion and Diversity Champion Group, supporting Regional Employee Network groups and providing nationally aligned, local guidance and proactive work, on improving our workplace behaviours and culture. This would be part of the regional People Plan, and aligned with H?kai Rangi, to focus on eliminating racism and reducing bias, discrimination, bullying and harassment.

   » Life practice that means you can work effectively with people from diverse backgrounds, communities, and ethnicities
   » practice in the development and implementation of culturally, and community sensitive I&D programmes, communication, and resources, that contribute to the achievement of an inclusive and diverse workplace
   » practice in influencing culture and/or change by effectively conveying information and ideas to a range of audiences
   » Specific practice in working with any employee networks or groups that are the focus for Inclusion & Diversity (in or out of the work environment)
   » Well-developed written and oral communication expertise, including group facilitation
   » capability to work effectively and collaboratively as part of several wider team
   » Effective planning and time management expertise
   » capability to critically analyse and interpret complex information to make effective well-reasoned recommendations and/or decisions
   » Proven practice and skill, at building and maintaining proactive and effective, internal and external relationships, that are trusting and enable positive changes
   » practice in working with business units, leaders and staff to broaden their knowledge of organisation development with a specific focus on any aspect of inclusion and diversity
The income band for this function is between $75,829 to $107,052 depending on expertise and practice.

Covid 19 Vaccination Requirements
All people working inside prisons are required to be fully vaccinated as part of the COVID-19 Public Health Response (Vaccinations) Order 2021.Ara Poutama is currently consulting with Community Corrections on a proposed policy would require all staff working in Community Corrections to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 as well. If approved, this requirement will commence on 28 April 2022.
