   » Recently established and key function in designing and carrying out archival accessioning
   » Lead the development of a systematic accessioning strategy for the Alexander Turnbull Library
   » Work as part of a holistic system, collaborating closely with colleagues in the Library's Curatorial, Collection Care, Arrangement & Description, and Digital Collections teams to facilitate and enhance access to the Library's collections
The Accessioning Archivist is a recently established function designed to help us standardise and centralise documentation, information, and metadata from a variety of stakeholders.
This is an excellent opportunity to join the Alexander Turnbull Library's Curatorial Services Team, work collaboratively with staff across the Turnbull Library and the National Library to advise and lead the implementation of the Library's refreshed accessioning workflow, helping us to establish effective intellectual and physical management and stewardship and increase the accessibility of the Library's collections. this function will also be part of a team with responsibility for day-to-day systems management of the Turnbull Library's collections management system.
To be prosperous in the function you will have:
   » practice working with cultural heritage collections in a Library, Archives or similar organisation
   » Demonstrated expertise of and engagement with archival principles, as well as current practices for accessioning, efficient processing, and archival description.
   » A high level of analytical and problem-solving expertise
   » An capability to establish and maintain collaborative working relationships with your team and the wider business.
