Kaipuawai Hapori m? te Whai Oranga – Community Recreation Programme Manager

Recreation Aotearoa is the voice of Recreation in Aotearoa, representing all professionals in the industry. They empower their members to deliver the quality Recreation practices, places and facilities, that fuel a more active, healthy, and connected Aotearoa.

With a national focus, you will design, develop and deliver professional development opportunities for the community recreation sector, bring creative solutions to championing Te Tiriti lead practices, and develop quality assurance frameworks for community recreation, including M?ori results.
 
Just some of the key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
 
   » Leading, designing and delivering an annual bi-cultural Recreation Conference
   » Leading the Kia Rite Hoea trainers' network and programme
   » Developing professional opportunities for M?ori in the sector and pathways for others
   » Leading professional development programmes including Accreditation, Tuakana Teina and MC Mentoring
   » Leading the design and delivery of the Recreation Awards, working with the Awards Committee
   » Working with the Communications & Marketing Manager to manage member focused marketing and communication activities
 
This is your chance to be part of the ?go-to' organisation for professionals involved in community recreation all over New Zealand and to make an important contribution, through the provision of high-quality professional development opportunities for the sector.
 
This is a great function in an organisation which offers genuine flexibility and work life balance, a very positive workplace culture and low staff turnover. You will be located in their central Wellington office three days a week, with Monday and Thursday as anchor days when all staff are in the office. The remainder of the week can be worked in the house or the office. You will also receive an additional two hours per week of paid leave to spend doing something that contributes to your wellbeing.

Person Profile:
   » A availability to challenge and test traditional system and practices to align the organisation with Te Whai Oranga
   » expertise and practice in the Community Recreation Sector
   » expertise and practice of leading professional development practices both face-to-face and online
   » Effective relationship building capabilities, internally and externally to the organization
   » Commitment to developing your M?ori cultural capcapability
   » capability to produce engaging written content for newsletters and social media
   » capability in a range of Information technology systems including membership, events, and webinar systems and the MS Office suite
   » Strong relationship building capabilities
   » Exceptional written and verbal communication expertise
   » Well organised with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
   » Personable, genuine and customer focused
   » A good sense of humour and positive attitude
