If so, then we want you to join our Linkpeople whanau in the Waikato providing housing solutions for Tangata Whaiora.
Summary
We'd love to hear from people who are practiced in the housing and/ or mental health field, can relate to a wide variety of people, who are often the most vulnerable members of our communities. We recognize the need to work in a way that is safe and engages people with respect to their culture. We have several functions in our team and are looking for people who can undertake reviews and assessment through to those that support people in their homes to thrive in the communities they live.
At LinkPeople, we believe that housing is a fundamental human right, not a compensate. We recognise that housing instcapability and homelessness are highly complex issues that require a community-wide approach to support people to access and retain housing. LinkPeople connects people to housing and support, underpinned by the Housing First philosophy that a reliable home is the foundation of wellbeing.
The function
The Housing case worker function is a full-time position working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday 8.30 am to 5.00pm, located in Hamilton and working across the Waikato Region. Elements of the function will require travel.
It's true than no two days will be the same. To be prosperous you will be able to:
   » work as part of a dedicated team with the aim of knowledge housing and its impact on wellbeing
   » build enduring relationships with the people you support and work with them to minimize any barriers to housing or housing stcapability.
   » work in partnership with other agencies, such as Work and salary, Kaianga Ora, Community mental health and others
   » working in the housing and health space, to support people to access housing.
   » undertake assessments and reviews focused on people's wellbeing and housing needs
   » work alongside people who practice mental illness and have housing needs and require your support to achieve housing stcapability.
   » provide wrap-around community housing-located service that have a strong focus on transition, recovery and wellness that empowers t?ngata whaiora and wh?nau to build the capacity to self-manage.
   » have good community-located connections with other social service agencies
   » managing the complexity connected with working with people with high and complex needs, often living with intergenerational challenges, mental health, addiction and trauma issues.
   » work within a housing first philosophy while also ensuring we meet the results and expectations of our stakeholders and partners.
You
We would love to hear from people with a range of practice in the mental health and housing/social services sectors with a passion for housing. Ideally you will have:
   » a level 4 qualification in health or a related field or be working towards this.
   » strong communication and relationship building expertise, you will quickly build credibility while showcasing your sound problem solving and problem solving expertise.
   » an capability to work at pace and flourish under pressure will be complemented by excellent attention to detail and proficiency in record keeping.
   » knowledge of and demonstrate utmost commitment to the Treaty of Waitangi principles and working with M?ori.
   » a full New Zealand driving license is also essential.
