You'll be able to choose one or multiple sites you want to be considered for when you apply! The Opportunity Do you enjoy tinkering with cars or anything mechanical? Would you like to gain while you lgain and gain an NZQA recognised qualification in Mechanical Engineering? If the answer is yes, this is an awesome opportunity to begin your career with the industry's biggest dairy exporter and train with the best in their field. Being a Mechanical Apprentice, means you'll be trained using a mixture of different skill sets across our sites highly automated plants and equipment. You'll be using advanced systems and gaining exposure to some of the industry’s most modern technology. On site you'll start working from Monday to Friday and eventually progress into a shift pattern. The theory-located work will be spread across the duration of your apprenticeship so that Information technology aligns to the practical work you'll be involved in. What you'll bring and develop We're looking for someone who's passionate about the mechanical trade both the technical and creative parts. Any and all practice in work-related fields, voluntary or school practice and involvement in community groups will be a huge advantage as these are the fundamental expertise we’re looking to kick-start you in the apprenticeship with. Other key expertise and practice include: » Achieved or in the process of attaining minimum of NCEA Level 2 Maths or NZQA Level 3 Certificate in a significant field » A keen interest in solving problems, learning quickly and working in a variety of different situations » Strong mechanical aptitude and general tech savviness » A minimum restricted driver's license is required with a view to secure your full one » Completion of a pre-trade course in a related subject would be nice but not essential Overall, it's your positive attitude, your enjoyment of collaborating with others, and drive to build your own learning and career that will set you apart.
