Christchurch Art Gallery Te Puna o Waiwhet? is seeking an exceptional individual to lead our Learning and Audience Engagement team.
The function
Team Leader Learning and Audience Engagement is a vital position at the Gallery, responsible for the direction and content of our learning and audience engagement programmes. You will supervise a team of three people, responsible for our education and public events programmes. The Gallery's schools' education programme delivers curriculum-significant art practices in our exhibition spaces and education centre to more than 11,000 school children each year. Our vibrant audience engagement programme welcomes at least 22,000 visitors a year and includes all our public events, performances, gigs, talks, tours and volunteer guide programmes.
The Team Leader will work alongside various teams within the Gallery to ensure that learning and audience engagement across ?tautahi's many communities, in particular Ng?i Tahu tangata whenua, is considered in all our programming. You will also work with colleagues across the ?tautahi cultural sector, creating exciting opportunities to work together for the benefit of the city.

   » practice in events development, production and delivery
   » Highly organised with creative and critical thinking expertise
   » Adept at managing administration, budgets, short- and medium-term planning and line management elements
   » A significant degree, and ideally 5 years' practice in a cultural or educational sector environment with 3 years leading a public programme.
