THE TSO
The Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra (TSO) - Tasmania's Orchestra - is one of Australia's leading performing arts companies and part of the DNA of Tasmanian cultural life since 1948. In 2020 the TSO entered its most innovative and entrepreneurial phase yet, embracing digital possibilities to connect with audiences not only all over Tasmania but across the globe. The ground-breaking launch of a completely rescoped engagement and revenue model designed for the post-2020 world has given the TSO the potential to reach a larger and more diverse audience than ever before.
THE OPPORTUNITY
We are pursuing a talented marketing professional to join our marketing team on this exciting and evolving journey. Working with TSO Director Marketing and Communications and Content Manager and Special Projects Curator you will coordinate the execution of a broad range of activations and outputs, cultivate deep and influential insights about our expanding audience, and support the delivery of dynamic performance and events activities - both live and digital.
You'll live and work in Tasmania, with its easy livecapability and superb lifestyle choices suited to a huge range of leisure interests. Tasmania is at the centre of Australian artistic and cultural life, hosting leading festivals, tours events - an internationally sought-after destination for everything from its stunning wines, farm-to-plate gastronomy, untouched wilderness and pristine coastlines.
WHAT YOU'LL BRING
This is an opportunity for you to bring your marketing and communications expertise to a pivotal function which supports the delivery of the TSO's engagement strategy. Connection with our loyal and beloved audience is vital to us and you'll work day-to-day to keep information flowing about our busy calendar of performances and events. You'll also help mobilise our audience development strategy - using the full spectrum of digital capcapability help us connect with new cohort of listeners. You'll be a solution-driven, proactive resource for internal customers, supporting the delivery of a whole new suite of TSO initiatives, including a new performance series, publishing arm, regional screening project and our nationally recognised learning and engagement products.
No two days are the same, so you'll need to be highly organised with excellent time management expertise. You'll been hardworking, committed, passionate with an capability to work calmly and effectively in a busy performing arts environment. You'll understand the importance of balancing your work and down-time and be able to relate to people with diverse skill sets and backgrounds. You'll have high level competency with digital platforms, and an instinctive talent for aesthetics and communication. Previous practice in the arts is a huge bonus.
