About the role : We have 2 fantastic opportunities for a Trades Assistant to join our in-house Truck Workshop team based in Christchurch. If you've always wanted to gain experience or further develop your existing experience by working on diesel trucks, then this is the opportunity for you! In this role, you will be assisting qualified Tradespeople and team leaders directly with all aspects of repair or rectification work on defective vehicles or equipment. Job Description: » Assisting in fault/maintenance diagnostic activities » Testing vehicles and equipment and ensuring all tools and equipment used in the performance of work are safe to use and stored in a clean and correct manner. » Maintenance servicing of heavy vehicles » Forklift license would be an advantage Working Hours available: -Monday Thursday 1.00 pm 11.00 pm and Friday 1.00 pm 6.00 pm, as part of our afternoon shift. -Monday - Friday 7am -3.30pm About you: We are looking for an individual with an interest in the heavy vehicle mechanical field. Training will be provided. We can offer apprenticeship programs for individuals who perform well and would like to progress and become qualified heavy vehicle mechanic. You're self-motivated, have pride in your work and your attention to detail is awesome, you enjoy working as part of a team as well independently.
