Were looking for a Senior Solicitor, with public law practice, to support ACC’s vision of a thriving Aotearoa, driven by a purpose of improving lives every day.
You will need to be comfortable advising in a large Crown Entity with a diverse range of stakeholders. You will advise on complex strategic and operational matters relating to the running of the Accident Compensation Scheme, ACC’s public law obligations, policy development and legislative changes.
Were looking for a team player with exceptional communication expertise, who can build strong relationships and work collaboratively. Someone who can focus on the big issues and provide simple, solutions focused advice will fit well with us.

This is a Wellington located function however we will accept applications from candidates able to work from an ACC location in another main centre.
Ko wai koe – About you
To be prosperous in this function, you will:
   » be able to provide leadership abilities and clear direction in the provision of specialist legal advice (including advice relating to the operation of the Scheme, the scope and lawful exercise of Crown Entity powers, privacy, official information, and the application of Te Tiriti)
   » proactively build relationships with key stakeholders, to build better knowledge of the strategic context, support greater visibility of the pipeline of work, and to enable proactive legal thinking
   » have excellent interpersonal expertise and a availability to support the broader legal team
   » have practice working with a range of technical experts, with practice in highly regulated, insurance or health sectors and Crown Entities being an advantage
   » have knowledge of, or a availability to gain an knowledge of Te Ao Maori and promote tikanga and te reo Maori. You will also have knowledge of, or a availability to gain an appreciation of Te Tiriti as Information technology applies in the public sector
   » have a tertiary qualification in law with seven years post qualification practice
   » hold a current New Zealand Law Society practicing certificate.

The base income range for this function is $117,433 $165,773 with appointment depending on expertise and practice and internal relativities. ACC also offers nine percent superannuation on top of base income.
