Do you have a keen interest and practice in internationalrelations, diplomacy and have a passion for parliamentary procedure? We’re looking for someone to join our Inter-Parliamentary Relations (IPR) team, who thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. The IPR team sits within the Parliamentary Engagement team and provides expert advice on a day-to-day basis while leading the implementation of the Inter-Parliamentary Relations Strategy and projects for the parliamentary agencies.
Ng? haepapa –Job responsibilities:
   » Providing advice on inter-parliamentary channels for Parliament working closely with the Speaker of the House, Clerk of the House, Members of Parliament, Inter-Parliamentary Organisations and other key stakeholders
   » Being an integral part of the implementation of existing inter-parliamentary programme and the inter-parliamentary relations and engagement strategies and supporting significant projects or organisational change, as required
   » Support parliamentary strengthening and capacity building activities both at the New Zealand Parliament and Pacific Parliaments
   » Promoting expertise of Te Ao M?ori and its relevance to work practices and service delivery in the everyday work of the team

Your capability to build strong relationships and influence within the parliamentary environment will be key to your success in this function, as will your flexibility, critical thinking expertise and creativity. practice in international relations and processes to deliver products and services that meet customers’ needs would be an advantage in this function, as would the capability to speak other languages. In return for your efforts, you have an amazing, unique opportunity to help the parliamentary agencies achieve their objectives and to strengthen our democracy by increasing New Zealander’s engagement with their Parliament.

The appointing income range for this function is $86,941.00 to $95,989.00 per annum. Appointments will be located on expertise and practice (please note, the full income range extends beyond this to allow for tenure progression).
