Our mission is to give effect to the status of te reo M?ori as an official language, to promote te reo M?ori as an ordinary means of communication and as a living language, and to lead the coordination of the implementation of Te Maihi Karauna. (Crown M?ori Language Strategy). We aim to create an environment where the Public Sector, private sector and wider community organisations are enabled to help revitalise te reo M?ori. We want all New Zealanders to value the M?ori language as part of who we are, what makes us a nation and is a living language for everyone to enjoy and celebrate - everywhere, every way, everyone and every day. We are seeking for people with the strategic drive and passion for te reo M?ori to come join us in leading the coordination of implementing Te Maihi Karauna. Advisor - Maihi Karauna Secretariat Te Taura Whiri is seeking a Maihi Karauna Advisor to provide support to the Maihi Karauna Secretariat (Te Taituar?). this function supports a number of senior forum, primarily Te Papa K?rero (Chief Executive Group) and Te Toko Matua (Senior leadership abilities Group). Support for these functions includes gathering data, co ordinating across the groups, supporting action plans, and being one step ahead of the needs of the forum. Being aware of the M?ori language revitalisation sector this function is a conduit of information, data and co ordination of strategies across the Maihi Karauna agencies. About You As a networker extraordinaire, you will have proven capability in managing internal/external/cross sector engagement to ensure healthy and significant relationships. Your amazing abilities at using MS Office applications will certainly be utilised along with your broad knowledge of software applications and databases will be an advantage in our current and continuing development. A hungry and exploratory mind is what we need - we are forever creating, realigning and developing to show the way. This is very much a function where your availability to seek solutions and adapt is more important to us than your prior practice, as we develop the team and the function. Ideally you will already have a proficiency in and knowledge of tikanga M?ori and te reo M?ori. If you are just a starter on that journey, and you have a availability to learn, we would still welcome your application.
