Te Taura Whiri i te Reo M?ori
Revitalisation of te reo M?ori is at the heart of what we do here at Te Taura Whiri i te Reo M?ori. Our mission is to give effect to the status of te reo M?ori as an official language, to promote te reo M?ori as an ordinary means of communication and as a living language, and to lead the coordination of the implementation of Te Maihi Karauna. (Crown M?ori Language Strategy).
We aim to create an environment where the Public Sector, private sector and wider community organisations are enabled to help revitalise te reo M?ori. We want all New Zealanders to value the M?ori language as part of our national identity and as a living language for everyone to enjoy and celebrate - everywhere, every way, everyone and every day.
We are seeking for people with the strategic drive and passion for te reo M?ori to come join us in leading the implementation of Te Maihi Karauna (Crown M?ori Language Strategy).
 
The function

The Opportunity
Te Taura Whiri is seeking a Strategy and Performance Advisor to assist in providing strategic leadership abilities in our organisation, and take the lead in ensuring all our reporting functions are fulfilled.
You will become a senior member in the Chief Executive's office and in this function, you will have the opportunity to make a difference to our organisation and to the culture of Aotearoa New Zealand. You will promote 5-10 year thinking and planning across the organisation, but be agile in order to adapt that plan as opportunities arise.
 
About You
As a networker extraordinaire, you will have proven capability in managing external/cross sector engagement to ensure external intelligence and government strategy is effectively informing strategic direction.
You will have a good knowledge of the public sector, and know how to strengthen our relationships, presence and intelligence. You will be a big-picture thinker and innovator, as well as a very practical implementer.
You will be a motivated self-starter who thrives in an agile environment and is not afraid to challenge the status quo. You will bring a collaborative style to your work with the confidence to manage relationships at all levels while being able to create new connections to positively achieve multiple results. You will have the capability to navigate complex situations with ease and bring demonstrated capability to work at pace to make recommendations and deliver smart solutions to time critical requests
You will also take the lead in co ordinating all our reporting, ensuring our Governance reporting requirements are fulfilled. You will monitor and report on high priority issues, risks and trends and prepare and present comprehensive reports, ministerial briefs, and agency submissions on complex issues. You will have exemplary written and oral communication skills with demonstrated practice in developing concise, articulate and audience appropriate briefs and reports.
You will have enough proficiency in te reo M?ori to understand key concepts and kaupapa that are integral to the function and our organisation.
