Together we are currently seeking a candidate for the function of Technical & Facilities Manager. This is an opportunity for the right person to make a unique contribution to the live performance scene here in T?maki Makaurau. This is a permanent full-time function set at 40 hours per week, at an annual rate of $65,000.00. They will report to the Operations Manager and will also work closely with the Creative Producer, Programme Manager, Bar & FOH Manager, and Basement's hirers, artists and producers. The ideal start date is Monday 20th February. Candidates for this function will be organised and motivated, and will have strong practice in live performance technical management. They will of course have a genuine passion for live performance, will enjoy working collaboratively in an intimate small team setting, and will understand the importance of centering and nurturing artist relationships in a mana-enhancing workplace. It is also very important to us that our team members hold a strong knowledge of what cultural and community safety means and looks like in the arts. Candidates will align with our organisation's desire to activate authentic cultural intersectionality, will hold community equity as a core driver in their work, and will confidently contribute to a work environment that aspires toward the bicultural partnership within Te Tiriti ? Waitangi. In the Technical and Facilities Manager function, you will have: » Knowledge of Te Tiriti ? Waitangi, strong cultural competency and practice working within bi-cultural frameworks » A significant qualification relating to Technical or Production Management. » At least 2 years of significant work practice. » practice managing a budget and delivering to allocated expenditures » Thorough working and practical knowledge of theatre production and process. » Theatre production expertise, specifically lighting, sound, stage management and all aspects of theatre design. » Competency with common computer programs. » A high level of competency with technical operations software and hardware. » Able to lift, push or pull objects up to 45kg using appropriate tools. » Health and Safety knowledge and practice working to executeing Arts industry standards » Able to make recommendations on technical support. » Advise on the design and construction of sets, lighting and sound designs appropriate to the venue. » Perform minor repairs and preventative maintenance on equipment. » Maintain inventory of necessary supplies. » Maintain irregular and extended working hours. Basement Theatre is a live performance venue in the central business district of T?maki Makaurau, established in 2008. We occupy the artistic underground and value the idea of pushing culture forward through brave, urgent and adventurous artistry.
