Te t?nga | The function
this function is a permanent position located in Wellington. Reporting to the Manager - Data Labs your focus is to supervise day-to-day operations and set clear team goals. You'll have input to Drive process improvement to uplift customer practice and apply a customer centric approach to everything we do and build strong relationships.
The Data Lab team is part of the Data Services branch, which includes four other teams – Customised Data, Integrated Data Production, Information Centre, and Data Services Development. this function will report to the Manager - Data Labs, Data Services.
The Data Lab team provides an essential service to New Zealand's research community, supporting researcher access to statistical data, like education, salary, benefits, migration, justice, and health. Ensuring all research is conducted within the Data Lab Five Safes https://www.stats.govt.nz/integrated-data/how-we-keep-integrated-data-safe/ #five and the Ng? Tikanga Paihere framework https://www.stats.govt.nz/integrated-data/how-we-keep-integrated-data-safe/ #tikanga.
Researchers use this data for research in the public interest to improve results for New Zealanders. The team hold key relationships with Government Agencies, University and Independent Research Community's as well as internal NZ Stats researchers.

this function will suit an enthusiastic forward-thinking person, with a strong focus on customer delivery, to accelerate the team to the next level. Previous practice in a leadership abilities function would be an advantage but not essential.
