we At Presenthave a vacancy for a Geography Team Leaderto jointhe Central North Regionteam in Hamilton.
As Team Leader you will lead a team of Kaiako (Teachers) andKai?whinawho are focused on the achievement of students in a designated geographical area. All teachers act as Kaiako to an authentic learning advisory group, and teach an integrated curriculum.
The person We are seeking for must possess great interpersonal skills and have a proven record of managing a diverse group of teachers, plus atrack record of working positively to embrace organisational strategic directions. You will manage the team, build a dynamic teaching and learning environment and ensure the delivery of high quality teaching and pastoral support to our diverse students. Being able to develop strategies for targeting groups of students at risk of not achieving and getting results is essential.
This is an exciting opportunity for anyone wishing to further develop their skills in:
   » leadership abilities and management, including performance and staff development
   » enabling students to achieve a high level of achievement
   » planning and assessment for 21st century students, including e-learning
   » effective relationship management, and
   » the provision of quality pastoral support
practice in distance education is not essential, but you must have the capability to learn, adapt, and be flexible. You must also be competent and comfortable with online learning.
There is a teaching component to this function so candidates must be trained teachers with current NZ registration and significant qualifications. The function attracts three Management Units and is located in Hamilton. Please state any other supporting NCEA subjects in your application.
