this function is in our Tangata Whaiora and Family/Whanau Service in Papatoetoe, where we have been providing Day Program, Peer Support, and Whanau Support in our community for over 15 years.
We are seeking for a well-rounded Peer Support Specialist to complete our team.
We are seeking for people who have personal lived practice and are wanting to use their recovery journey to help support and inspire others.
You will be supporting people to move forward with their recovery within a supportive, compassionate, relaxed, peer-led service.
This is a full-time position located in Papatoetoe, South Auckland (Monday to Friday).

You’ll bring your own knowledge and practice of mental health and/or AOD challenges to the function. Please tell us about your journey in your cover letter.
Sometimes faced with challenging behavior you’ll utilize your calmness to engage and empathize and will be quick to think on your feet about how to deal with situations in a safe and supportive way.
You will also need to be flexible and happy to pick up “hands-on” tasks and have the availability to lgain on the job.
You’ll be culturally respectful, and non-judgemental as well as have a strong knowledge of M?ori and Pasifika cultures.

   » An approved PET Training and a National Certificate in Health and Wellbeing Level 4 (or the commitment to complete these)
   » The capability to demonstrate assertiveness, accountcapability, and compassion for people and encourage them to change
   » Intermediate computer expertise
   » A full New Zealand Driver’s License
