Position: Executive agent
Job location: West Auckland

What We’re Looking For:
The Executive agent is responsible for the leadership abilities of Community Wait?kere and its staff. They are accountable for the strategic leadership abilities of the organisation, ensuring the Vision, Mission and Values are brought to life. They are responsible for ensuring that Community Wait?kere nurtures and supports communities so that people and te taiao flourish.
We are seeking for someone who:

   » Has the following competencies:
   »Community Development Insight: Deep knowledge and practice in community development, knowledge its values and how to adapt in an ever-changing environment.
   »Te Ao M?ori Connection: A strong consciousness and capability to work within Te Ao M?ori, with existing mana whenua relationship and to build new connections within M?ori networks across West Auckland.
   »leadership abilities in Community Organisations: Proven capability to lead and manage in the community sector.
   »Stakeholder and Funding Relations: Capacity to quickly establish and maintain vital relationships across Auckland and nationally.
   »Team Development and Culture Building: Demonstrable strength in nurturing and supporting staff, and enhancing internal organisational culture.

   » Is stakeholder focused:
Actively cultivates and maintains positive internal and external relationships with a large range of stakeholders including:
   » Community Waitakere Board, Staff and Contractors
   » Mana whenua
   » Aspiring community activists / leaders
   » Sectors of the community whose voices are currently less heard
   » Existing West Auckland community, environmental and educational organisations
   » Funder / philanthropic organisations
   » West Auckland Local Boards and Auckland Council
   » Central government representatives and agencies
   » National and sister community sector bodies
   » Central government representatives and agencies
   » National and sister community sector bodies
