Job Offer: P?tohu – Kaupapa- Here – Rauora K?awa / Catchment Remediation Contracts Advis:Big Splash NZJob description:Job DescriptionKaipara Moana Remediation ProgrammeP?tohu – Kaupapa- Here – Rauora K?awa / Catchment Remediation Contracts Advisor (Fixed-term full-time) This exciting initiative will assist with the implementation of water quality improvement by facilitating landowners, community groups, iwi and hap? to undertake projects that contribute to sediment reduction in the Kaipara Moana. Make a key environmental difference by joining Kaipara Moana Remediation Programme and being part of the Catchment Remediation team led by the Amo-Rauora K?awa (manager). For the Contract Advisor function, among other things, you will be: » Providing technical advice on contract management, funding applications and processes for remediation projects on the whenua, ensuring all contract and project documents are accurate, robust and compliant » Providing advice/technical support/liaison in the promotion of good farming and land management practices that lead to sediment reduction » Attending significant hui, meetings and public events as needed representing the programme » Managing remediation grants funds from initial fund application through to final sign-off » Undertaking specific project management as required To be prosperous, you are likely to have: » A tertiary qualification (degree level) or equivalent practice in agriculture, ecology, environmental management or significant work practice in a related field or contract management » practice in contract management, including preparation and management of project and contract documentation » practice in managing contractors and working with contractors, especially in remediation projects such as fencing, planting and forestry » practice in environmental and/or land management projects which have had a focus on achieving water quality improvement and sediment reduction results » Cultural empathy and consciousness and being comfortable working with hap? and marae this function is largely office located and sits within the newly established Kaipara Maurikura – the operations unit specifically set up to deliver the Kaipara Moana Remediation Programme results. The Programme itself has the overall aim of returning the Mauri to the Moana by significantly reducing the amount of sediment going into the Moana.
