The Meteor Theatre is Kirikiriroa's exciting, accessible, and affordable space for the community to share creative practices, we are an active contributor to the vibrancy and creativity of our city. The Meteor presents live arts and practices that support local and national creators and provides opportunities for people of all ages and backgrounds to engage with the arts.

Position Purpose:


We're looking for a relationship and marketing impresario to join our awesome Meteor wh?nau! The Audience Builder manages our marketing and partnership activities, working to connect arts and community groups with audiences.
This is an exciting next step for someone who wants to build a prosperous management career in the creative sector.
As The Meteor's Audience Builder, you can apply your initiative and can-do approach, showcase your multi-tasking and time management expertise, work with some brilliant people, build a creative community, make things happen, see some amazing shows, and have lots of fun along the way.
Devising and implementing a strategic plan for new partnerships, sponsors, and donations for The Meteor, is a key-task of this function.
But more than just sales and sponsorship, this function is also about building community through a shared arts practice. You'll bring empathy and vision to work with a range of different people and to communicate clearly across a diverse range of platforms and audiences.

Hours:


This is a starting function of 30 hours a week with potential to grow. Some of the flexible weekday work hours can be home located, but sometimes you might need to be on site for evenings or weekends to fulfil The Meteor Theatre's strategic goals.
Remuneration will be located on the candidate's expertise and practice.

Work practice We Want:


   » At least twoyears' practice in a marketing and communications function or similar and/or significant tertiary qualification.
   » capability to devise and implement time-lined marketing plans across a range of channels, meeting or exceeding audience targets
   » practice with building partnerships with business in a sponsorship, fundraising or similar function and managing continuing relationships with key stakeholders.
   » Digital literacy, with practice and knowledge of digital campaigns, social media platforms, building online community, market trends and best practises.
   » practice working with traditional media channels, designers, printers, advertising, and publicity agencies
   » Knowledge of CRM systems and basic graphic software capcapability (beneficial)
   » Knowledge or consciousness of tikanga and te reo M?ori - and a good singing voice! (beneficial)

Person expertise We Want:


   » Goodadministration and planning expertise, including the capability to prioritise and effectively manage numerous projects at once
   » Resilient relationship building and partnership expertise. Able to relate to a range of key stakeholders, producers, artists, media, and arts organisations.
   » Great written communication expertise, especially copywriting and proofing. You can communicate clearly across a diverse range of platforms and audiences
   » Strong time management expertise, always meeting vital deadlines. Being able to work independently and unsupervised or collaboratively as a team.
   » Excellent face-to-face communication, a sense of humour and capability to relate to a wide variety of people
   » A clear connection to or interest in the arts and creative community in Kirikiriroa or wider Aotearoa, with an knowledge of the value and function of the performing arts (beneficial)
   » Lateral and strategic thinking to find new, creative, and innovative ways to attract audiences to come and practice live arts events (beneficial)
