?SCAPE Public Art installs public art in ?tautahi Christchurch all year round, with a focus on its annual Seasons. We are the Christchurch experts in public art installation and the SCAPE Public Art Seasons are New Zealand's premier public art events. Our vision is for people to be excited, engaged and stimulated by contemporary public art and for ?tautahi Christchurch to be a city with a world-class collection of public art that is widely known and visited.
The function of SCAPE Education & Community Engagement Manager will be to deliver exciting and engaging educational activities, events, products and offerings, during the SCAPE Public Art Season, (Friday 4 Nov 2022 - Sunday 29 January 2023), plus the delivery of the second year of our Art, Learning and Wellbeing Pilot Programme. In addition, the function will be responsible for the delivery of a programme of talks, which form the Public Speaker Series and Programmes for 2022 Public Art Season.
We are seeking for an practiced art educator, able to work prosperously with primary through to tertiary students as well as teachers and adults. You will also develop and organise wide ranging public programmes to foster interest and excellent participation in the SCAPE Public Art 2022 programme.
To be prosperous in this function you must possess the following skills, attributes and practice:
   » Minimum of two years art teaching practice
   » Be a skilled communicator (oral and written), with strong interpersonal and leadership abilities skills
   » Tertiary qualified at minimum BA Level in Visual Arts, Fine Arts, Education and/or Art History
   » Have a high level of research, organisational and time management skills
   » Knowledge of public art
   » skills in developing, implementing and delivering art education programmes in an educational context
   » practice and knowledge of an ?outside the classroom' education programme
