manager Social Worker, Care and Protection – Tokoroa, Bay of Plenty – full-time, fixed-term until April 2022

What you will do?
   » Lead a team of staff, providing quality supervision that grows the professional expertise, capcapability and capacity of your team
   » Mentor, coach and develop Social Workers and Workplace Administrators to help them reach their potential in delivering quality service to tamariki and whanau
   » Help embed all practice tools for your team to make quality assessments
   » Work with your team to manage workflow
   » Work alongside the other site managers to provide support where required and to look at opportunities for further development of staff and site processes
   » Be a central part of the Bay of Plenty team, utilising your strategic analysis to identify strengths and risks, themes and trends and provide information to Regional Manager
   » Be an active participant in the site leadership abilities team, working alongside the Manager, Practice Leader, other Site managers, FGC Coordinator and Kairaranga-a-whanau
What you will bring?
   » A full, clean, valid driver’s licence
   » Full registration with New Zealand’s Social Work Registration Board (SWRB)
   » A social worker qualification recognised by the SWRB
   » Strong expertise and practice of what Oranga Tamariki does and how we work
   » Previous people management and mentoring practice
   » An capability to build and lead an effective team and be a team player
   » Resilience, initiative and a proactive approach
   » Empathy, patience and capability to see past what someone may be struggling with
   » Excellent verbal and written communication expertise with the capability to adapt to your audience
   » The capability to analyse and review social work and financial plans
   » Sound judgement, time management and organisational expertise
   » The capability to manage risk and make tough decisions
   » practice using Microsoft Office Suite
   » Cultural competency in Te Ao Maori
   » expertise of Te Reo would be a plus
   » A positive outlook and supporting nature
