Who we are
The New Zealand Family Violence Clearinghouse (NZFVC) is the national centre for research and information on family, wh?nau and sexual violence in Aotearoa New Zealand. The Clearinghouse provides information and resources for people working towards the elimination of family, wh?nau and sexual violence. Auckland UniServices is contracted by the Ministry of Justice to provide the NZFVC resource and NZFVC works in partnerhsip withWh?raurau.
The opportunity
The team at NZFVC are seeking a Kaupapa M?ori Research Lead to join their team part time for 24 hours a week! You will support the Kaiwhakahaere and Academic Directors to ensure that the Clearinghouse builds its capacity to support and promote m?tauranga M?ori and Kaupapa M?ori research on family, wh?nau and sexual violence in Aotearoa. Key Job responsibilities:
   » Develop and lead the implementation of a M?ori information strategy for the NZFVC.
   » Develop and maintain relationships with M?ori researchers and networks.
   » Support effective knowledge translation and mobilisation activities that enhance knowledges of family, wh?nau and mahi t?kino/sexual violence in Aotearoa.
   » Identify and communicate critical knowledge gaps to inform future research.
   » Contribute to the development of resources and research translation outputs including research reports, issues papers, evidence briefs, webinars and infographics.
   » Produce regular summaries of administrative data on family violence and sexual violence and provide analysis of the data appropriate for a broad audience.
   » Provide subject matter skills to support submissions and consultations on government policy and legislative change.
   » Support the integration of community research and practice located evidence into the work of the NZFVC
Your skills and practice:
It is essential for you to hold:
   » A demonstrated skills in wh?nau violence and/or mahi t?kino/sexual violence and a significant post graduate degree.
   » A demonstrated commitment to embedding the principles of Te Tiriti in your work.
   » Knowledge of te reo me ?na tikanga and Kaupapa M?ori research methodologies and frameworks.
   » The capability to distil and convey complex ideas and information in ways that can be understood by diverse audiences.
   » practice with qualitative and/or quantitative research methodologies.
   » Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
