The opportunity
Are you a passionate and expert facilitator in Tapas? a Cultural competencies framework for teachers of Pacific learners? Are you well recognised in Pacific education and our Pacific communities? Then come and join our organization, as one of our full-time permanent Facilitators. You will join us on our journey in Pacific-led Education. Ideally you will be an practiced facilitator or teacher in the New Zealand education sector with early learning or schooling practice, significant teaching accreditation and current certification.
As this position supports Pasifika, you willhave knowledge and practice of Pasifika learners, families and communities. Be practiced with theTapas? framework, with a ‘trusted educator’ status in the Pasifika education community and/or academic environment. Competency or familiarity with one or more Pasifika languages is desirable.
Key Job responsibilities:
   » Deliver workshops in-person and online as part of continuing professional development programmes.
   » Lead or facilitate the effective Tapas? professional learning and development (PLD) initiatives in schools.
   » Train, coach and mentor teachers, principals and school communities within specified contract results.
   » Develop effective pedagogy with teachers in school settings.
   » Support the Programme Manager in the delivery of specific delegated promotion, marketing, and engagement activities.
   » Assist with the development of online learning using an LMS.
   » Report progress and suggestions for improvements to the Programme Manager.
   » Contribute evidence to programme reports to the Ministry of Education.
Your skills and practice:
It is essential for you to hold:
   » Tapas? practice, sector knowledge and skills.
   » Knowledge and practice with Pasifika cultural capabilities, and Pasifika languages.
   » knowledge of the progressive journey of Pasifika medium education that early childhood, primary, and secondary sectors provide.
   » Schooling practices to draw on with Pasifika learners.
   » knowledge of effective pedagogical strategies that are culturally sustaining, and evidence located.
   » Knowledge of strategies toaccelerate student achievement.

Our professional learning and development (PLD) offerings are grounded in rich evidence-located research and innovation from Waipapa Taumata Rau, University of Auckland. We work collaboratively with principals, teachers and school communities, co-constructing professional learning and development focused on lifting professional teaching practice and enabling equitable results for learners.
