The opportunity:
We have an opportunity for a Natural Hazards Advisor in our Climate Change team. You will work within a brand-new team that provides advice and leadership abilities on natural hazards, climate adaptation, and works across the organisation and the region to promote the transition to a zero carbon, resilient society. The purpose of this function is to provide technical advice and develop guidelines on natural hazards including, though not limited to river and coastal hazards, land instcapability, geohazards, drought, wildfire, wind/cyclone and liquefaction.
this function has three key areas of focus and responsibility:
   » Natural Hazards analysis and advice, including flood and coastal risk management
   » Risk and vulnercapability assessments
   » Climate change adaptation
Do you have what Information technology takes?
We are seeking for someone who can bring the following:
   » Appropriate degree in engineering, coastal science, water resources, geohazards or an equivalent qualification
   » A minimum of 7+ years of related practice
   » practice in GIS (ESRI, ArcMap, ArcPro) and other significant software
   » practice and/or in-depth expertise in one or more of the following fields – hydraulics, hydrology, river-geomorphology, erosion, coastal engineering and natural hazards/risk assessment
   » Skilled in project and contract management
   » High level and broad depth of significant analytical expertise
   » Flood risk management work: design input and maintenance
   » Natural hazards investigation, analysis and reporting
   » practice in use of Microsoft applications especially Teams, Word, Excel and Outlook
