M? te t?nga | The function
This is a permanent full-time Insights Analyst function located in our Christchurch office however, we will consider candidates who are located in Wellington. You will report to the Manager - Financial Insights
Within this function you will be able to have a significant impact by:
   » Producing impartial financial statistics which are used to shape policy and support packages for businesses in these challenging times.
   » Shaping our response to accounting standard changes (including IFRS16 and IFRS17) and interpreting their impacts on economic statistics.
   » Partnering with our internal stakeholders to improve our measurement of business's performance and better reflect the rapidly changing NZ economy.
   » Finding ways to reduce the burden on the businesses we measure, by changing our survey design, using administrative data, and modelling.
   » Improving our toolset for data collection, analysis, and release to better meet our customer's needs.
M?u | About you
   » Accounting degree (ideally a Chartered Account) with at least three years significant practice (preparing financial reports and tax compliance for a range of industries, including tax returns, GST returns, and dividends declared).
   » An analytical mindset, curious about the world around you, and a drive to see Information technology accurately reflected in our statistics.
   » A passion for learning and coaching others on complex accounting and business matters.
   » capability to communicate and simplify complicated concepts. Including a flair for visualisation and plain English communication (written and verbal).
   » Knowledge of economic concepts (ideally, the system of national accounts).
   » practice using coding language to an intermediate or advanced level.
   » Knowledge/familiarity or a commitment to learning/knowledge Te Ao M?ori, in order to understand and contribute significant work and results for M?ori communities.
