The PSA, New Zealand's largest union, is seeking a skilled campaigns and communications advisor to support its campaigns and advocacy over the crucial pre- and post-election period.
It's an exciting time to join the PSA, as Information technology rolls out its Stand Together 2023 election campaign, and advocates for a better working life for its members and quality public services that underpin a thriving Aotearoa.
The function
In this varied function you'll apply your generalist communications expertise to help drive the PSA's crucial work that includes: advocating for strong public and community services; pay equity and equal pay; Fair Pay Agreements; a fairer tax system; strong local government; and a clean and green Aotearoa.
You'll make a difference to our five-person campaign and communications team over a busy period by:
   » Creating a range of content for use across our communications channels
   » Driving proactive media coverage and managing media inquiries
   » Developing communications plans
   » superviseing production of publications and e-newsletters
   » Providing communications advice to PSA sectors and networks.
What you will bring
You will be an practiced generalist communicator who thrives in a dynamic environment and who has some or all of the following expertise:
   » Digital campaigning expertise
   » Strong writing and message development expertise
   » Publications practice including editing
   » Photography, videography or video editing
   » A broad knowledge of the political environment
   » An knowledge of the political and industrial function of unions.

The income range for each position is$71,589 to $101,671. New employees enter the range on a starting rate located upon previous significant practice and commensurate with internal relativities. Progression to the top of the scale is by regular and automatic service steps.
