Job Description

The Public Service Fale is seeking an practiced Senior Advisor to join the leadership abilities Development workstream, one of three focus areas within the Service Design & Delivery Team. The Fale, which sits within Te Kawa Mataaho Public Service Commission, is a regional centre of excellence that operates to support sixteen Public Service Commissioners in the Pacific to achieve their goals to strengthen public services for their citizens. Many Public Service Commissions in the Pacific are responsible for HR and OD across the whole public service and request support from the Fale to build local HR capcapability and develop HR policies, strategies, guidance, and processes.
   » Are you practiced in developing people capcapability solutions?
   » Do you have Human Resources (HR) and/or organisational development practice?
   » Are you interested in supporting senior public service leaders and HR practitioners in Polynesia, Micronesia, and Melanesia by building HR and OD capcapability; providing advice; and co-designing fit-for-context HR and OD solutions?
   » Do you enjoy facilitating and partaking in discussions where people lgain from others’ practices and expertise?
   » Does your user-centric mindset motivate you to connect with people and understand their context so you can provide useful and significant support?

In this function you will partner with senior and HR leaders working in the Pacific public service to develop HR and OD people initiatives that enhance local Pacific capcapability and capacity. We are seeking for someone who can:
   » connect, engage, and influence senior leaders and HR teams across the Pacific;
   » work with HR teams in the Pacific public service to understand their public service context and develop fit-for-purpose HR policies;
   » apply best practice to support the development of HR tools, strategies, guidance, and processes that consider different public service contexts;
   » take a coaching approach to building HR capcapability with HR practitioners in the Pacific;
   » facilitate workshops with HR practitioners across the Pacific.
To be prosperous in this function We are seeking for someone who:
   » has excellent relationship management and communication expertise;
   » is able to build networks across the Pacific and the NZ Public Service;
   » is an practiced HR/OD practitioner who understands best people capcapability practice;
   » has practice developing policies, strategies, guidance, and processes and can do this in the HR/OD space;
   » has practice growing the capcapability of others; has an interest and availability to serve the peoples of the Pacific.
This position usually pays between $99,200 to $116,700 depending on expertise and practice.
