PURPOSE
The Hatea Art Precinct Trust has an exciting opportunity for an practiced education content developer to take inspiration from the new Hundertwasser Arts Centre and Whang?rei Art Museum - bringing them to life for today's school learners.
As the Content and Programme Developer (Education), you will work with the Curator, Learning to develop content for a new education programme for school learners. You will have an innovative and creative approach to learning, with a focus on the arts but also be able to integrate aspects of the wider curriculum. Content will align our programmes with the New Zealand curriculum.
For the right person, we are open to creating a flexible working schedule/hours around existing work commitments.
particular responsibilities
   » Use Hundertwasser's art, architecture and ecological philosophies to research and develop high quality content and interpretation to serve as themes for new education programmes.
   » Use Whang?rei Art Museum's collection, along with modern and contemporary art concepts to research and develop high quality content and interpretation to serve as themes for new education programmes.
   » Ensure the new content and interpretation honours Hundertwasser's legacy and Whang?rei Art Museum.
   » Ensure the new content and interpretation reflect modern approaches to learning in Aotearoa New Zealand.
   » Ensure the new content and interpretation supports the New Zealand curriculum and aligns with Ministry of Education and Government expectations.
   » Ensure programme aligns with LEOTC tender requirements and facilitate LEOTC Tender process if applicable.
   » Ensure the new content and interpretation honours Aotearoa New Zealand's biculturalism and the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi, The Treaty of Waitangi.
   » Write content proposals and briefs for education programmes to ensure agreed messages are prosperously conveyed.
   » Co-ordinate the completion and delivery of one new education programme on time and to budget.
   » Consider the needs and motivations of today's school learners in the development of education programme.
   » Manage relationships with external contractors to ensure delivery of a new education programme on time and on budget.
   » Support the introduction of the new programme into the education sector.
expertise, practice & EDUCATION
   » Bachelor of Education or Graduate Diploma in Teaching required. Additional qualifications in Art History or Fine Arts would be advantageous.
   » Proven practice developing high quality, innovative arts education programmes for school learners in line with the NZ curriculum.
   » practice designing and delivering LEOTC Programmes for an art gallery, museum or related institution advantageous.
   » capability to design programming for children that encourages individual learning and creativity.
   » Innovative, flexible, and able to manage change and uncertainty.
   » Strong verbal and written expertise.
   » Proactive, energetic and results-oriented.
