The Health Quality and Safety Commission are recruiting an practiced Senior Data Analyst to enable the prosperous delivery of the Commissions trauma programme. The Trauma Programme was established in 2019 under a contract with ACC for the Commission to work with the National Trauma Network to build a contemporary trauma system across New Zealand. As such, this function will be full-time until the conclusion of the contract in June 2023, with a possibility for renewal.
We are seeking for someone who is committed to working as an integral part of the programme team but also has the confidence, drive and initiative to be a self-starter with a can do attitude. You will be working among a team of analysts on a broad range of analytic projects focussed on knowledge the end-to-end management of care and results for people who practice major trauma. Your practice with, and a sound knowledge of, health system data, statistical methods and data visualisation applications will be an asset to the team. If youve got some practice with Patient Reported results Measures (PROMs), this would suit be a huge complement our wider programme of work. An interest in using data and measurement for supporting quality improvement would be ideal.
this function will primarily support one of the commissions third party funded work programmes, Major Trauma and may contribute to the work of infection avoidance and control. As a result the Senior Analyst will be expected to engage with external agencies including Accident Compensation Corporation, the National Trauma Network, Te Whatu Ora (Health New Zealand), Te Aka Whai Ora (Maori Health Authority) and regional trauma networks as well as a wider national and international academic community.
The Health Quality and Safety Commission is a stand-alone Crown entity with a Board responsible to the Minister of Health. The Commission is responsible for assisting providers across the whole health and discapability sector, both private and public, to improve service safety and quality and therefore results for all those who use these services in New Zealand.
