About our group and team
The Practice and Implementation Advisor is a member of the Performance and Quality team. The main function of the Team is to support, enable and improve organisational practices and service delivery across Educational (School and Early Childhood) and Learning Support functions. This includes working alongside others to develop and implement new initiatives, lead workforce development through the provision of professional development and induction, managing contracts and funding for the sector, and providing data analysis to support continuous improvement.
Our work delivery requires us to engage across the ministry both locally and nationally as well as with external agencies and groups such as RTLB, Oranga Tamariki and the Northland DHB, among others.
About this function
The focus of this function is on the development and implementation of quality-focussed procedures and processes in order to capture and embed best practices.
You will provide practice thought leadership abilities and will facilitate the broadening of field workers’ thinking to an all-of system approach to practice.
You will be supporting and enabling the adoption and implementation of new ways of thinking, behaving and working within our region.
Additionally, you will work with colleagues across the ten regions and National Office, ensuring local initiatives are shared, and contextualising national initiatives for our region.

About you
You will have a significant tertiary qualification, ideally in education or learning support with further degrees, training or papers in project management or change management or quality management. practice in the implementation of frameworks and/or organisational processes for capcapability building is desired. You will be a powerful function model with the capability to quickly develop high credibility across the region.
You will have excellent communication expertise and also offer very strong interpersonal, influencing expertise, rigorous logic and the capability to deal with difficult problems. You will demonstrate the capability to understand and apply the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and tangatawhenuatanga.
