About our group and team
SE&S – Sector Enablement and Support
Our teams around the country work closely with the Early Childhood and Schooling sectors, providers, and communities to provide support, skills and resources to help children and young people reach their full potential.
We also directly provide Learning Support for around 40,000 children and young people.
The Provider Services team is part of Learning Support Delivery and funds education services that help support children and young people to stay engaged in learning.
About this function
A funding contingency of $31.2m has been created from the COVID-19 Response and Recovery Fund for targeted short-term support of students at risk of disengage ment.
This is targeted for students in the following at-risk settings:
   » Alternative education
   » Activity centres
   » Teen parent units
   » Te Tupu manged moves pilot
   » Te Kura at-risk gateways
The funding will be delivered through several time-limited initiatives for students in at-risk settings, for example, professional learning development (PLD) for providers; an enhanced wellbeing fund for students (among others).
The Lead Advisor will lead the package of At-Risk initiatives including the processing of funding applications and payments. Responsibilities also include system development to support the workstreams in addition to monitoring and reporting to Treasury and Ministers.
About you
Your key previous practice will be in a service delivery function and leading the effective planning and implementation of initiative(s).
To be prosperous in the function you will be skilled at communicating complex ideas and information and be able to work collaboratively with key internal and external stakeholders. We will rely on you to design processes that align with initiative objectives and wider Learning Support Delivery objectives and expected results.
You will also offer the following:
   » practice with contract management and, ideally, procurement of services
   » practice working in Government
   » The capability to understand and apply the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and tangata whenuatanga
