Help shape the future of education
At the Ministry of Education, we work together to shape an education system that delivers equitable and excellent results.
Our organisation is made up of more than 3,000 talented and committed people around New Zealand, from a wide variety of backgrounds and cultures.
While we work in different groups and on different things, we all strive every day to make the biggest difference we can for every child, young person and adult student in our education system.
About us
Education Infrastructure Service (EIS), a part of the Ministry of Education, manages the Crown’s second largest property portfolio of around 2,100 schools with a book value of $19.6 billion, the largest payroll in the country, and transportation of over 100,000 students to and from school each day.
Our vision for school property is that all schools have quality learning environments as part of a well-managed and sustainable portfolio that helps deliver equitable and excellent results for every child.
Asset Management is a team within the Education Infrastructure Service which provides support and guidance to state schools in the management of crown owned property and in undertaking property related work on school land and buildings.
About the function
The School Property agent is primarily responsible for administrative and financial processing tasks in support of Property Advisors across the region. This includes processing of schools’ property project documentation, property plans, payment of invoices, scanning, data input and database management, filing and archiving. The function also assists in fostering and managing relationships between schools and the Ministry by responding to queries and information requests.
This position is an opportunity for Somebody with administration and financial expertise who has an interest in asset management. Information technology will give you a flavour of what property portfolio management within the Ministry involves, leading to more specialised work as your career progresses through the organisation. Because the Ministry is one of New Zealand’s largest and diverse infrastructure owners, that career will provide opportunities to practice every facet of asset related disciplines available in this country.
Please note there is more information in the Job Description attached.
