practice Wellington is seeking an innovative Learning Specialist with history and social sciences education skills. Bring your passion for sharing stories about our local histories with tamariki and ?konga. Design inspirational practices that connect our world class exhibitions to the lives of tamariki and ?konga.

The function is primarily located at Te Waka Huia o Ng? Taonga Tuku Iho Wellington Museum and includes Nairn Street Cottage and the Cable Car Museum. Information technology offers the opportunity to collaborate across other practice Wellington sites - Capital E, City Gallery Wellington, and Space Place. This position is permanent, fulltime. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required.

You will:
   »
Design, deliver and evaluate engaging history and social sciences learning programmes.
   »
Develop innovative ways to work with kaiako to bring local curriculum to life.
   »
Actively support our aims to embrace Te Ao M?ori and increase engagement with M?ori audiences, through your learning programmes.

You will:
   »
Be a strong educator: confident in working with and responsive to tamariki and ?konga.
   »
Have a sound expertise of history and social sciences within national curriculum frameworks. expertise of LEOTC/ELC programming is an advantage.
   »
Have deep expertise of Aotearoa New Zealand histories and strong networks in history and social sciences education communities.
   »
Have undertaken professional learning and development in relation to Te Ao M?ori, including te reo M?ori me ?na tikanga.
   »
Possess the capability to enrich the local curriculum through learning programmes that connect with mana whenua.
   »
Possess excellent communication and facilitation skills.
   »
Be a great team player - collaborative, creative, reliable, proactive, and positive.
   »
Hold a genuine interest in research and innovation to design responsive and engaging learning programmes for early childhood and school groups.
