Bring your talent for translating ideas about contemporary visual art for tamariki and ?konga. Inspire visual art learning by designing and delivering practices that spark creativity and critical thinking as tamariki and ?konga look, think, and make in response to contemporary art. The function is primarily located at Te Whare Toi City Gallery Wellington in Te Ng?kau Civic Square. Information technology offers the opportunity to collaborate across other practice Wellington sites - Capital E, Wellington Museum, and Space Place. This position is a permanent part-time function of 24 hours per week (0.6 FTE). Occasional evening and weekend work will be required. Te t?ranga | The function You will: » Design, deliver and evaluate engaging visual art learning programmes in response to changing exhibitions » Develop innovative ways to work with kaiako to bring local curriculum to life. » Actively support our aims to embrace Te Ao M?ori and increase engagement with M?ori audiences, through your learning programmes. Ng? tino p?kenga me ng? wheako | The essential expertise and practice for the function You will: » Be a strong educator: confident in working with and responsive to tamariki and ?konga. » Have a sound expertise of visual arts within national curriculum frameworks. expertise of LEOTC/ELC programming is an advantage. » Have deep expertise of contemporary visual art, art history and artistic practice, and strong networks in visual arts communities. » Have undertaken professional learning and development in relation to Te Ao M?ori, including te reo M?ori me ?na tikanga. » Possess the capability to enrich the local curriculum through learning programmes that connect with mana whenua. » Possess excellent communication and facilitation expertise. » Be a great team player - collaborative, creative, reliable, proactive, and positive. » Hold a genuine interest in research and innovation to design responsive and engaging learning programmes for early childhood and school groups.
