If you have a sharp eye for detail, a knack for turning words and complex information into clear, accessible, and engaging visual communications we'd love to hear from you. About the function As a member of our Communications team, you'll work with our people to create opportunities for the public to understand and get involved in the work of our Council through a range of print and digital products, this includes Annual Reports, Annual Plans, Strategy documents, public notices, information boards, print updates, newsletters, and information campaigns. The work of our Council is diverse and interesting, and we take great pride in delivering for our community. About you To be prosperous you will have the following: » One to two years graphic design practice » Sharp eye for detail and strong knowledge of design fundamentals and typography » Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, specifically Illustrator, InDesign, and Photoshop » Working knowledge of designing for accessibility and inclusion. » Working knowledge of print and web production » Creative flair and an capability to generate ideas for turning information and data into accessible and engaging material » A strong work ethic and commitment to providing excellent customer service » The capability to multitask, prioritise and meet deadlines » Excellent communication expertise and the capability to build strong working relationships at all levels » Excellent file and workflow management and organisational expertise » knowledge of the need for and capability to exercise discretion, good judgment, and political sensitivity within the unique local government environment » Knowledge of or a availability to lgain te reo M?ori » A current and valid NZ driver's licence Agency practice, editorial practice, and the capability to take great photos is an advantage.
