ACC has been improving the lives of New Zealanders since 1974. As part of the team, you’ll be supporting people in Aotearoa to stay safe by minimising the incidence and impact of injury, as well as helping them recover from injury if an accident does happen.
We are pursuing to recruit a proficient team leader with a strong Collections background.
In this function you will be leading a team of Collectors who have responsibility for debt collection of outstanding levies debt for ACC. With the capability to draw on personal practice, you will be expected to be an effective coach and mentor for your team. Your knowledge of the collections environment, as well as your team leadership abilities practice, will help you to keep the momentum going and drive performance. Because of the nature of this type of function, we are interested in learning what strategies you use to keep the environment light and how you inject some fun and enjoyment into the team.
There is also a focus in this function for you to take initiative in joining the leadership abilities team. This is a fundamental part of the wider Collections team and gives our team leaders the opportunity to work collaboratively and consultatively to implement process improvements.
Only candidates with the following expertise and practice will be considered for this function:
   » Have proven and demonstrable practice leading, motivating and managing a team
   » Demonstrable practice in a collections environment in either the private or public sector, preferably as a team leader or manager
   » practiced in change management, training and development of people.
   » Be able to demonstrate a strong knowledge of best practice collection principles and practices.
   » See the ‘Big Picture’ and be able to analyse, evaluate and interpret statistical and performance related data to get the best from the team
   » Have the capability to communicate effectively, both written and oral
   » Be computer literate with a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office
