Job Opportunity: Communications Advisor:AUTJob description:Job DescriptionAre you interested in helping tell the stories of AUT online and in social media and supporting a high-functioning communications team?We’re looking for a fixed-term communications advisor to cover a team member’s approved leave period. You’ll be working alongside a team of smart communications professionals to help translate the research and skills of AUT’s academics for a broad range of stakeholders. this function plays a crucial part in helping the team deliver monthly media training workshops, interacting with future and current students via social media, creating content for our AUT social media channels and writing news stories for our online news section. It’s a great function for someone starting out in communications to work in a supportive environment. Key Job responsibilities: »Social Media Engagement: » Monitor and respond to comments and messages on social media » Create content for our social channels – including video content » Work with our social media advisor to support audience growth across our channels »Training Workshop Facilitation: » Assist in the planning, coordination, and execution of media training workshops, including recording video interviews »News Story Writing: » Research and draft news stories, press releases, and articles on significant topics. » Collaborate with team members to identify newsworthy stories from our academics and draft stories for our news section Appropriate qualifications: » Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, or a related field. » Strong written and verbal communication skills. » Social media savvy with practice managing social media accounts. » capability to work collaboratively and adapt in a fast-paced environment. » Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail. » Basic expertise of graphic design tools is a plus. » Passion for education and expertise dissemination. income Range: $54,000 –$57,993 (dependent on practice and qualifications) Ref: 87013 Closing Date: 5 October 2023, at 11:55pm *Full-time denotes 37.5 hours per week At AUT we strive to be a place where people love to work and learn.
