   »Two x permanent, part-time 0.5 FTE (20 hours a week)

   »A second 0.5 FTE opportunity in the Forensic service
About the team
We have an opportunity for a Kaum?tua – H?koro/H?kui to provide guidance and support at both clinical and cultural levels within Southern DHB, in a function that reflects Te Ao M?ori.
located within the Mental Health Addictions and Intellectual Disabilities service this function will influence quality of care and shape service delivery, therefore your knowledge, practice and knowledge of the health needs of M?ori will be invaluable. Having knowledge of He Ara Oranga (mental health and addictions review, Wh?nau Ora and the M?ori communities of Murihiku will be highly desirable.
This is a position which covers general mental health.
We have another 0.5FTE part-time position inthe Forensic service and the two functions could be combined if you wanted a full-time position.
About you
Our ideal applicant will be able to anticipate, prioritise, multi task, and deliver to time frames. You’ll have the capability to take direction when required, and the confidence to build prosperous working relationships across Southern DHB. Your flexibility and adaptcapability will be essential, as will be your proven capability with technology.
You will be a highly motivated M?ori cultural leader. Positive attributes include a knowledge of Tik?nga me ?na kawa o K?i Tahu as well as a broader in depth knowledge of Te Ao M?ori. You would also be a proficient speaker of Te Reo M?ori. You will have the capability to work independently and/or as part of a team. You can provide evidence of fostering good relationships, leadership abilities and decision making with the capability to motivate and influence the practice of others. You will require a full New Zealand driver’s licence.

Covid vaccination requirements
Following the update to COVID-19 Public Health Response (Vaccinations) Order 2021, to be employed with Southern DHB you will be required to be fully vaccinated as a health care worker. If you have already been fully vaccinated you will need to provide proof of this to Occupational Health staff. If you are not yet fully vaccinated you must make arrangements to undertake your first vaccination no later than 15 November 2021 and be fully vaccinated, as required by the Order, by 1 January 2022.
