Do you have practice managing trails and tracks? Then we’d love you to consider joining the Board of Herenga ? Nuku Aotearoa. 2 x Board Member positions: On behalf of Hon. Meka Whaitiri, Associate Minister of Agriculture (Animal Welfare), the Ministry for Primary Industries (MPI) is seeking nominations for two new board members to the Board of Herenga ? Nuku Aotearoa, the Outdoor Access Commission; legally the New Zealand Walking Access Commission, (the Commission). About the Commission: The Commission provides leadership abilities on outdoor access issues and administers a national strategy on outdoor access, including tracks and trails. To support this, the Commission supervises a code of responsible conduct in the outdoors, provides information on outdoor access to the public, undertakes mapping of outdoor access, helps to resolve access disputes, and negotiates new outdoor access. more information on the Commission can be found at:https://www.herengaanuku.govt.nz. About this function: In this round of appointments, We are seeking for candidates with track and trail planning, building, management, and governance skills. We are also looking for candidates who can engage T?ngata Whenua and the wider public using digital best practices, including through social and digital media channels, while upholding M?ori customary values and interests. more information about the Board member functions is contained in the position description.
