   » Full-time at 37.5 hours per week (1.0 FTE)

What You Will Do
The function of the Kai?rahi M?ori is to lead and support all Faculties and Service Units to drive strategic outputs for M?ori and to embed M?ori expertise, learning content and research in contexts across UC. This position is also responsible for leading engagement initiatives that enhance kaimahi proficiency in bicultural competence and confidence. The function will foster and enhance the Faculty and Service Units relationship with Ng?i Tahu and M?ori communities. You will support the embedding of Te Rautaki M?ori -Strategy for M?ori Development into the Faculty and Service Units plans and aims for development and to promote M?ori achievement all over the Faculties, Service Units, UC and wider community.
Who You Are
To be prosperous in this function you will have excellent interpersonal expertise to be able to engage prosperously with a wide variety of UC staff, diverse ?konga M?ori, wh?nau, and other M?ori community members including kura, iwi, r?nanga and organisations. You will also have a minimum of 6 years’ practice in a related function and evidence of:
   » Demonstrated practice in professional leadership abilities, administration, and management of professionally qualified staff.
   » Substantial practice working with students or customers from diverse backgrounds.
   » Demonstrated mentoring and coaching capcapability.
   » Proven practice working collaboratively and evidence of contribution to team success.
   » Active commitment to upholding the values, tikanga, kawa and traditions as guided by mana whenua, Ng?i T??huriri, and valuing te reo M?ori.
   » Proven practice and commitment to enhancing cultural consciousness and competence.
   » Master’s Degree (NZQA Level 9)
