The Sydney Fringe is a cultural industries organisation and advocacy group for the live arts and music sectors. Each year we deliver a number of key projects and programs including the annual Sydney Fringe Festival (www.sydneyfringe.com) which is now the largest independent arts festival in NSW, presenting the work of over 2500 artists in 450 productions across all disciplines. Outside of festival time we work with key stakeholders and major partners to deliver placemaking activations and advocacy projects that build the vibrancy and sustaincapability of the local independent arts sector.
The Sydney Fringe wishes to engage a highly organised and energetic person for the function of Business Manager of The Sydney Fringe, to effectively and efficiently manage all business and human resources operations and ensure prosperous delivery of the annual Festival and other year-round projects.

function Description
The Business Manager ensures a commercially and operationally viable presentation of the CEO's vision for the annual festival and year-round programs/projects. They are responsible for legal and contract management, HR administration, superviseing budget management and forecasting, providing administrative support to the CEO to ensure the prosperous management of the Sydney Fringe office, and that all procedures and protocols of the organisation are maintained.
Key Responsibilities and tasks:
   » Provide high-level advice and guidance to ensure the organisation's effective administration, governance and operation.
   » supervise financial management of the organisations operations: With the CEO develop and manage annual organisation and project budgets; track organisation and project specific cash-flow; supervise finance staff; coordinate financial reporting and annual audit.
   » Coordinate funding submissions and acquittals as required
   » Ensure compliance with Sydney Fringe policies and procedures
   » Manage contract preparation, negotiation and execution
   » Recruit, manage and maintain staff and contractors
   » Manage and maintain all company business systems including data-base and operating systems.
   » supervise the prosperous day to day management of the Sydney Fringe office
   » Evaluate and improve operations and financial performance
   » Manage company correspondence and reporting requirements

   » A demonstrated track record of prudent, effective financial management.
   » A demonstrated track record in accounting, forecasting andbudgeting.
   » Highly developed skills in commercial contract reviews, negotiation and contract management

   » A proven capability to plan and manage all operational finances and financial systems and effectively report onthem.
   » A proven capability to manage tight cashflow.
   » An knowledge of financial compliance in both public and privatesectors.
   » Time management skills essential.

Qualifications and practice:
   » Tertiary Business qualifications are desirable but not essential.
   » A proven track record in sound accounting and financial skills.
   » practice in risk, contract management, HR administration, general business operations, office administration,
   » NFP industry practice preferred

This position reports to the CEO/Festival Director.
